Haley House Is Winner After Poker Run
RIVERVIEW - Commandant John Bain and Joe Stajkowski of the Riverview Detachment of the Marine Corps League presented a $2,500 check to Pat Schenck from the Haley House's board of directors Nov. 16.
The detachment's Poker Run on Oct. 6 brought in the money for the donation. Bain said this will be the first of a yearly poker run aimed at raising money to support the facility.

After they have completed the run they turn in their cards, and the person with the best hand wins a prize."

"Our grief, faith and the support of each other give us strength and great wisdom," Swengros said. It helps "those around us put the small things in perspective" and encourages them to "cherish every moment."
