TAMPA - On Nov. 1, Riverview's Ping Chen was one of three artists whose work was exhibited at Tampa International Airport.
The exhibit, sponsored by Teasdale Worldwide Art, a global arts movement for art education, can be seen at the entrance to the Marriott Hotel, which is on the Airport's third level.
Chen's art, along with that of Anne Kavanagh and Patricia Filomeno, will be on sale through Dec. 6. Part of the exhibit's opening included giving art lessons to 15 students involved with the Civil Air Patrol, five students per artist.
Chen taught her group to use brushes and sponges in creating summer and fall landscapes.
A portion of the proceeds from paintings sold will help fund local art scholarships through the Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio's Arts Education Fund. The program is in partnership with the Unsinkable Molly Brown Foundation, a nonprofit group that raises money for music and art supplies for Hillsborough County public schools.
