GIBSONTON - Two South Shore schools brought their varsity football seasons to a close on a chilly field.
With temperatures in the mid-50s, East Bay High School defeated Spoto 35-6 at home. East Bay, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, hosted more than 300 alumni at the game.
Senior quarterback Rex Ballenger and junior running back Chaz Burrows led the Indians to a 21-0 halftime lead, and the team never looked back.
The Indians ended the season with four straight wins, bringing their record to 5-5. Meanwhile, the Spartans completed their first season of varsity competition with a 3-7 record, including a win in their first home game.
