RIVERVIEW - Despite starting the 2007-08 season with a couple of losses, the Riverview High School varsity girls basketball team is looking to build on last year's record.
Lelani Gordon, who has been the girls basketball coach since the school opened 10 years ago, led the Sharks to an 18-6 record last season.
This year, players such as senior Crystal Blake and junior Chelsey Pachoud hope to lead the team to greater heights.
They will have to bounce back from losses to King High School on Nov. 13 and Lakeland on Nov. 16.
The team picked up its first win Nov. 17 against Spoto High, 61-60.
