Friday

Golf For Sammy

The Sammy Sullivan Memorial Golf Tournament will start at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Summerfield Crossings Golf Club, 13050 Summerfield Blvd., Riverview.

Sammy Sullivan Charities is part of the Greater Brandon Community Foundation, which will receive proceeds from the tournament.

Saturday

Fine Feathered Photos

There will probably be some oohs and aahs during the large-screen presentation of Fred Whilden's award-winning photographs at 3 p.m. Saturday at the South Shore Regional Library, 15816 Beth Shields Way, Ruskin.

Whilden has captured Southwest Florida birds courting, nesting, stalking, hunting and at play. The Eagle Audubon Society is providing the refreshments in celebration of the 25th anniversary of its application for national Audubon chapter status.

Get Back To Nature

The Family Naturalist Program at Camp Bayou will take an aquatic invertebrate count Saturday with your help.

A lesson on what a biological indicator is will be given and everyone will be able to help the environment with the service project of trash pick-up. The event, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., is for families with children ages 4 and older.

To register, e-mail famnat @campbayou.org. Camp Bayou is at 4202 24th St. S.E., Ruskin.

Sunday

A Ghostly Time

Gargoyles and Ghosts, a family-friendly Halloween event, will be at the Tampa Theatre, 711 N. Franklin St., Tampa, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Take a self-guided Gargoyles and Ghosts walk through the theater, complete with Halloween scenes provided by Creatures of Delight, as well as tales of history and Tampa Theatre haunts. Beginning at 3 p.m., classic Halloween cartoons and a Halloween movie will be shown and complimentary popcorn provided. Don't forget to wear a costume.

Admission is $5 per family. Tickets are available at the door, but reservations are encouraged. Call (813) 274-5507 or e-mail restoration .society@tampatheatre.org.

Monday
