RUSKIN - South Hillsborough motorists will find their daily commutes disrupted when several daytime lane closures take effect this month.
The first roads to be affected were Fifth Avenue Southeast — between Fifth Street Southeast and Seventh Street Southeast — and Fourth Street Northwest — between Second Avenue Northwest and Inlet Road — in Ruskin.
Both are two-lane roads that will have alternating traffic between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday while work is done by the Tampa Electric Co.
Finally, traffic along Woodland Estates Lane and Fourth Street Southwest will be disrupted through Oct. 11.
Woodland Estates Lane will be affected from College Avenue West to U.S. 41 South, while Fourth Street Southwest will see construction in the area from Woodland Estates Lane to U.S. 41 South.
Riverview, Gibsonton Roadwork
Work by the Hillsborough County South Service Unit will close a pair of roads this month — at least for a few days.
Cross drainpipes will be replaced on Spottswood Drive in Riverview and Lula Street in Gibsonton from 9 a.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Spottswood Drive will be shut down in the portion between Greenland Drive to Edgeknoll Drive, but motorists will be able to detour through Edgeknoll Drive and Greeland Drive.
Lula Street will be closed from Beach to Palm avenues. The detour will take drivers through Beach Avenue, Restwood Drive and Palm Avenue.
Grange Hall Loop Bridge Work
Hillsborough County construction crews will soon put half of a two-lane road out of commission for a couple of weeks.
Grange Hall Loop will have alternating traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 29 while one of its lanes is closed for bridge repairs.
The work will take place between State Road 674 and Hobbs Road.
