A Walk-A-Thon For The Lions
Apollo Beach's Keller Williams Realty South Shore Market Center recently hosted its inaugural South Shore Cares Walk-A-Thon, and raised more than $6,800 for the Sun City Center Lions Foundation.
South Bay Hospital Earns Award
South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center has been awarded the 2007 Jean Byers Award for Excellence in Cancer Registration by the Florida Cancer Data System. The award acknowledges the hospital's timeliness and completeness in reporting cancer case admissions to Florida Cancer Data System.
AT&T Adds New Cell Site
AT&T Inc. recently announced the activation of a new cell site Riverview to strengthen wireless coverage in Hillsborough County. The Rhodine Road site will help boost wireless coverage in the Summerfield Crossing community, as well as along U.S. 301 between Gibsonton and Sun City Center.
Three Agents Join Keller Williams Realty
The following agents recently joined Keller Williams Realty South Shore Market Center, 6488 U.S. 41, Apollo Beach:
Michele Davis, a 15-year resident of Apollo Beach, was most recently with Greenfield Homes and Investments and Sotheby's International. Davis also has 23 years of experience as a financial planner.
Luanne DeCarbo began her real estate career more than 12 years ago. Prior to joining Keller Williams, DeCarbo was with People's Choice Realty.
Dawn Dougherty, an Apollo Beach resident, has been in the real estate industry for 11 years and has an experience in corporate and business finance. She earned a master's degree in business and was formerly with Florida Executive Realty.

New Board Members
Penny Smith and Robert Newhart have been elected to the Mary and Martha House's board of directors. Smith and her husband, John, are owners of three H&R Block franchises in South Hillsborough County. Robert Newhart is the general manager of The Resort & Club at Little Harbor in Ruskin.
Citizens Planning Academy
The Planning Commission has scheduled a Citizens Planning Academy for Aug. 21-22. The curriculum will include: Florida's planning requirements; constitutional and legal framework for planning; the role of the planning official; engaging the public in planning; land development regulation and zoning; and planning implementation.
The academy will be from 1-5 p.m. Aug. 21 and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 22 the Tampa Port Authority boardroom, 1101 Channelside Drive, Tampa. Cost is $30.
