Auction, Casino To Help School
Are you up for a little auction and casino action for the holidays? The Apollo Beach Elementary School PTA will sponsor its Casino and Auction Holiday Affair from 6-10 p.m. Friday at the Southshore Falls Clubhouse, 5831 Cascade Falls Lane, Apollo Beach. The event includes dancing, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets are $35. For information, write to slmeyers2000@ yahoo.com.
Saturday
Guide Dogs Lead The Way
Puppy and dog lovers can visit the Southeastern Guide Dogs' Open House from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. See the training kennels, find out how the dogs are trained and learn what services the organization provides.
You also can walk blindfolded with a trained dog and hug a puppy or two. Santa will make a special appearance.

It's A Winter Festival
Head to Boyette Springs Elementary School, 10141 Sedgebrook Drive, Riverview, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday to enjoy a winter festival with fun for the entire family.
The event will feature games, an outdoor bounce house and an inflatable obstacle course, as well as a live auction, drawing and autographed memorabilia.
Food vendors and area crafters also will sell their wares. The Gingerbread Shop will give children the opportunity to shop for special gifts without mom or dad watching.

Shall We Dance?
Dance with stars Art and Bernice May at the Christmas Ball from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the Sun City Center Community Hall, 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd.
The Academy of Ballroom Dance hosts this event, which includes a waltz exhibition by the Mays.
Admission is free for members and $5 for guests. Jackets for men are requested. For tickets, call Fritzie Silcott at (813) 634-7567.
Prior to the dance, at 6:15 p.m., the club offers a waltz lesson, with the Mays instructing, for $2.50 per person.
Sunday
Holiday Favorites, Barbershop-Style
They have been entertaining for 62 years and are considered one of the premier men's barbershop-style choruses in the nation. Who are they?
The Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony Chorus, and they will perform from 2:30-4:30 Sunday at the Sun City Center Community Hall. Enjoy a holiday show of favorite songs, followed by a wine-and-cheese reception.
Tickets cost $16 and are available by calling Judy at (813) 642-2001. The public is invited to the Community Hall at 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd., Sun City Center.

Looking for something different in a Christmas service?
The Redeemer Lutheran Church, 701 Valley Forge Blvd., Sun City Center, will celebrate German Advent at 3 p.m. Sunday. The service will be presented in German, and the chorus of the German American Club will provide music. Refreshments will be served. For information, call the church at (813) 634-1292.
All Weekend
Gun Show Returns To Fairgrounds
The Suncoast Gun Show and Sale will return to the Charles M. Davis Special Events Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa. The show offers something for everyone, including collectors. Featured items will include firearms, gun-related accessories, gun parts, gun tools, knives, cases, locks, cartridge boxes and belts, ammunition and more.
Hours will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.
A concealed weapons class will be offered from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. both days at a cost of $40 per person. No appointment is needed.
Admission is $8 for adults and free for ages 12 and younger. Parking is $5 per car and $10 for RVs or buses. Visitors are asked to enter the fairgrounds from the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard entrance.

Tuesday
Ladies' Fun Time
Attention area ladies: You are invited to the Christmas Ladies Fellowship at the First Baptist Church of Gibsonton at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Festivities planned are a pot-luck dinner, devotion, prayer requests and a gift exchange.
There is no charge to participate. Just bring a dish of food to share, a wrapped gift valued less than $10 to exchange and a smile on your face.
The fun takes place in the Fellowship Hall of the church, 9912 Indiana St., Gibsonton.
