Friday

Primates Get Presents

Watch the excitement as the Lowry Park Zoo primates open special presents from the staff and docents at 1 p.m. Friday. This event is included with general admission. Tickets cost $18.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors 60 and older, $14.50 for children ages 3-11 and free for children age 2 and younger. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The zoo is at 1101 W. Do The Doo - The Didgeridoo

Darren Liebman, the master of the didgeridoo, will make a return appearance at the SouthShore Regional Library at 1 p.m. Saturday. Liebman engages the audience with music, drumming, puppetry, theatrics and comedy. Using an Australian theme, the entertainment carries powerful messages about education, racial and cultural harmony and respect for all living creatures.

People of all ages will enjoy this program. The SouthShore Regional Library is at 15816 Beth Shields Way, Ruskin.

Nativity Comes To Life

Have you ever wondered what the nativity was really like? The youth of Ruskin United Methodist Church will act it out with live animals at 6 and 7:15 p.m. Saturday. Children may feed, pet and interact with the animals, so bring your camera for the photo opportunities. Children and adults also can enjoy refreshments and goodies. All Weekend

All Aboard

The Tampa Model Train Show and Sale will pull into the station at the Florida State Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday. The fourth annual event will have more than 200 tables of model trains and gear in all gauges. Model railroad artifacts, accessories and collector items also will be available. Large operating layouts will be set up to view and enjoy in the Charles M. Davis Special Events Center.

Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $8; children younger than 12 enter free. A printable discount coupon is available at www.gserr.com. Parking is $5 for cars; $10 for RVs and buses. Use the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard entrance. The fairgrounds are at 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.

Dancing White Stallions

The "World Famous" Lipizzaner Stallions will dance and prance their way into The Lakeland Center for two shows only, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 30 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 31.
