Book Proceeds To Fund Scholarship

APOLLO BEACH - Kim Wirick will sign copies of her book, "The Boy with Magic Ears," from 2 to 4 p.m. March 1 at the South Shore Gallery, 447 Apollo Beach Blvd., Apollo Beach.

This book was a labor of love for Wirick. Having a deaf son, and feeling that through knowledge comes understanding, she has vowed to educate the public on deafness. In order to achieve the goal, Wirick is donating all proceeds toward a scholarship fund for deaf children.

Award-winning artist Eric Olis provided the illustrations for this book.

"The Boy with Magic Ears" is the first in a series of children's books about handicap children.
