SUN CITY CENTER - The 35-member Hogans, a new Sun City Center golf club, recently elected officers from Sun City Center and Kings Point.

They are: Art Swallow, president and publicity chairman; Karen Jones, vice president and secretary; Rich Lucidi and Charlie Strimpell, members at large; and Dave Case and Ron Kingston, league committee members.

Sixteen members of the Hogans played in the group's inaugural round of golf under drizzling but gradually clearing skies Feb. 1 at Cypress Creek Golf Club. Don Giannelli won 21 skins; Swallow, eight; Ron Kingston, six; Jack Moberg, five; and Bill Hudson, three. Swallow earned the lowest net score, 73, and Moberg the lowest gross score, 92.

Twenty-five people attended a meeting Feb. 7 at which plans were discussed to set up at least two rounds of golf weekly at public golf courses. The group also discussed seeking a community association waiver that would allow the club to include nonresident members.

Winners of the Feb. 8 league round at Apollo Beach Golf Club were Moberg, Strimpell, Dave Diehl, Denny Wintersteen, Dennis Freeland, Case, Giannelli and Bud Keating. Low scorers Feb. 11 at the Summerfield Crossings Golf Club were Moberg, Wintersteen, Giannelli and guest Mary Pat Kirchen.

The membership fee is $5. For information, e-mail Swallow at artswallow@aol.com.
