RUSKIN, FL - RUSKIN, FL - A public hearing and decision on changes to the Little Harbor development at Bahia Beach to allow condominiums to be used as hotel will not be held Feb. 26 as originally scheduled.
The developer has sought a remand, that is, a rehearing of the proposal before the zoning hearing officer. After the first zoning hearing, the zoning hearing officer recommended denial of the plan.
The new hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. April 1 at the County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa.
The developer wants to convert 450 of the approved 1,500 housing units at the waterfront development to hotel rooms or to rentals that could be let out for a week or less. Under the current zoning code, residences cannot be rented out for less than a week.
