SUN CITY CENTER - The Keenagers will gather at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Great Hall of United Community Church, 1501 La Jolla Ave., for a chili and vegetable lasagna dinner.
"The community is invited and welcomed for a great evening," said Hazel Martin, church publicity director.
Entertainment will be provided by the Pelican Players. Tickets are $7 per person and may be purchased between 10 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday at the church or by calling Dick Timm, (813) 633-5333.
The Keenagers organization is made up of 24 volunteers who provide social programs for the congregation and community, Martin said. "Offerings can be dinners with entertainment, one-day trips or other interesting events in the Tampa Bay area."

International Travel Subject Of Forum
SUN CITY CENTER - The International Forum of Sun City Center invites residents to a panel discussion on individual and themed-group international travel from 9:30 a.m. to noon Jan. 11 in the Florida Room of the Atrium Building, 955 N. Course Lane.
Speakers will make 10-minute initial remarks before answering questions from the group. William Gilbreath, who traveled to Europe 60 times while working as a scientist for NASA, will speaking about Internet travel options. Irv Easterday, a former community college athletics director who takes American dancers on trips overseas, will discuss traveling in a themed group. Rita Morrison, a former nurse and teacher, will cover Elderhostel programs in which she has participated. Wayne Peterson, president of the Sarasota branch of Friendship Force, will talk about exchange visits sponsored by the organization, and former teacher Ruth Ann McMillen will discuss ways to make travel educational.
Pat Diehl, former teacher and manager of an American school in Germany, and Marjory Hile, former library director who led the Great Decisions discussion group at the Community Church College, will coordinate and moderate the forum. All are Sun City Center residents except Easterday, who lives in Hagerstown, Md., and Peterson, of Sarasota.
Anyone interested in being a panelist or program coordinator for upcoming programs about France, Spain or Ireland or who has been involved in the Peace Corps, any international organization or is a World War II veteran may contact Dean Mahin, (813) 633-9403.
African Children's Choir To Perform At Church
SUN CITY CENTER - The Sun City Center United Methodist Church will play host to a free concert featuring the Watoto African Children's Choir at 7 p.m. Jan. 10 in the church sanctuary.
The Ugandan choir will present a Concert of Hope, combining contemporary gospel music with traditional African rhythms. Children will share their stories of sadness and hope, providing inspiration to audiences.
Watoto is a program that places children affected by disability, HIV/AIDS or conflict with families that will nurture them, care for them and provide spiritual guidance.

Epilepsy Foundation Offers Scholarships
TAMPA - The Epilepsy Services Foundation is offering at least four college scholarships - two for $500 and two for $1,000 - to selected individuals.
To be eligible, applicants must have epilepsy or another disability and be a senior in high school or a college student.
"The individuals will participate in a two-hour competition program in which they will be asked to develop a plan to solve a problem and present their solutions to a panel of judges," said Tom Orth, executive director of the foundation. "The judges will select the scholarship winners."

Peg Leg Pirates Provide Scholarship
RUSKIN - Ye Notorious Krewe of the Peg Leg Pirate has dug up another treasure - a scholarship to provide financial assistance to amputees who wish to attend college programs or trade or technical schools.

The krewe helps amputees, their families and organizations that assist amputees by providing services and equipment.
