WIMAUMA - Several community boards, in conjunction with the Florida Institute for Community Studies, are seeking donations of toys for Saturday's Three Kings Day celebration at the Wimauma Civic Center, 5705 Hillsborough St.
The event, which is the seventh time for the Wimauma celebration, marks Three Kings Day, a tradition in Mexico also known as Epiphany. The celebration teaches children of farmworkers and others the richness of Mexican heritage.
The groups need unwrapped toys for about 500 boys and girls from birth through age 10.
Call (813) 249-8100 to arrange for items to be picked up or drop off the toys at the Multicultural Family Center, 6704 Hanley Road, Tampa.
Other community agencies that have united to help stage the events include the Beth-El Farmworker Mission, Good Samaritan Mission, Our Lady of Guadeloupe Catholic Church and the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department.
