SUN CITY CENTER - Monsignor Harold Bumpus, pastor of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Blvd., will celebrate a Tridentine Mass, the traditional Roman Catholic Mass in Latin, at noon Feb. 3 in the Monsignor Diego Conesa Great Hall.
"Pope Benedict XVI, in October, signed a universal indult - or permission - for priests to celebrate again the Mass used throughout the Church for nearly 1,500 years," said Karen Ryan, director of public and media relations at Prince of Peace. "Everyone is invited to attend."

Get Ready For Some Swingin'
SUN CITY CENTER - Tickets are on sale for a concert sponsored by Prince of Peace Catholic Church's Knights of Columbus featuring The Swingin' Divas at 5 p.m. Jan. 30 at Community Hall, 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd.
The Divas will perform music by several female musical groups of the '40s, '50s and '60s, including the Andrews Sisters and the McGuire Sisters. Their repertoire includes songs such as "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Sincerely," "Who's Sorry Now?" and "Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight."
Tickets, $10 per person, will be on sale from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Prince of Peace Catholic Church Parish Center Lobby, 702 Valley Forge Blvd., through Monday. Any tickets still available after that will be sold at the Ticket Kiosk in the Sun City Center Community Association Atrium Building, 945 North Course Lane.

New Odyssey In Concert Jan. 27
SUN CITY CENTER - The comedy, music and audience-participation routines of New Odyssey will be presented by the Sun City Center Community Association from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 27 in Community Hall, 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd.
The family act is billed as "hilarious, zany, incredible and unique," according to Judy Schings, entertainment chairwoman.
Tickets are $13 per person, theater-style seating. Tickets are available from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays through Fridays at the Community Association office, 1009 N. Pebble Beach Blvd.

Care-Giving Classes Offered At Church
SUN CITY CENTER - The Sun City Center United Methodist Church, 1210 Del Webb Blvd. W., will hold weekly Compassionate Action classes for caregivers at 4 p.m. Wednesdays from Jan. 16 through Feb. 27, except Feb. 6, Ash Wednesday, in the church parlor.
This "is a clinical and spiritual study of care giving in difficult situations," said Roxana Fitt, the new publications secretary for the church. "The class will provide valuable information on how to be effective in emotionally difficult conversations."

One-Day Safety Class Offered For Boaters
BRANDON - The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 74 Brandon will play host America's Boating Course from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. either Saturday in the training room at West Marine, 1516 W. Brandon Blvd., or Jan. 26 at Power Source Marine, 10909 U.S. 92 E., Seffner.
Bruce Duncan of Power Source Marine will provide a lunch of fried fish, beans, coleslaw and drinks for those attending the class Jan. 26.
The course will target people considering getting a boat, new boaters, those who have been away from boating and need a refresher course, boat passengers who may be called on in an emergency and boaters 21 years old or younger. Minors are required by law to complete such a course before operating a boat or personal watercraft by themselves.
Topics of safety, navigation, boat handling, weather, emergencies and correct usage of a boat trailer will be covered. Those who successfully complete the course and exam will receive a boating identification card that may be presented to insurance companies for possible discounts.
The preregistration fee for each daylong course is $40 for the first person in a family and $35 per person for additional family members. "Program fills up fast!" said Robert Lowry, public affairs officer for Flotilla 74.
