RUSKIN - RUSKIN - Representatives of state and county agencies overseeing environmental preservation and related issues will meet Tuesday with residents of the southernmost portion of Hillsborough County to discuss how growth will affect natural resources.
The discussion is part of the development of the South Side Community Plan, which is expected to guide county planners and shape the look of the community south of the Little Manatee River in years to come.
The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the SouthShore Regional Library, 15816 Beth Shields Way.
Representatives of the county's Environmental Lands Acquisition and Protection Program, Environmental Protection Commission and Public Works Department are scheduled to attend, along with scientist Brandt Henningsen, who oversees several habitat restoration sites in southern Hillsborough for the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
