Dave Matthews Jams

The Dave Matthews Band, with special guests Gomez, will perform at 7 p.m. today at the Ford Amphitheatre, 4802 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.

A Guided Art Tour

The SouthShore Regional Library will host a guided tour of its permanent art exhibit at 1 p.m. today. The library, 15816 Beth Shields Way, Ruskin, has 135 pieces in its collection. No preregistration is necessary, but groups of 10 or more are asked to call Suzanne Prach, (813) 273-3652, to arrange a separate tour.

Oh, Alvin!

AMC Entertainment is offering $1 tickets for today's 10 a.m. showing of "Alvin & The Chipmunks" starring Jason Lee as part of Summer Movie Camp at AMC Regency 20, 2496 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon. Doors open at 9 a.m.

The camp will continue Wednesdays through Aug. 6 with $1 tickets for G- and PG-rated movies.Call (813) 243-4955 for information.

Candidate Forum

Hillsborough County Commission candidates Kevin Beckner, Denise Lane and Joe Redner will take part in a candidates' forum at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Sun City Center North Clubhouse, 2020 N. Clubhouse Lane, Kings Point.

'Plaid' Pleases

Florida's longest-running musical, "Forever Plaid," returns to the Jaeb Theater at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, 1010 N. MacInnes Place, from Friday through Aug. 17.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday. There also will be matinee performances at 2 p.m. July 16 and 23. Tickets are $31.50; call (813) 229-7827.

Concert Under Stars

The Tremors featuring The Earthquake Horns will perform at 7 p.m. Friday during FishHawk Ranch's summer concert series at Park Square in the Garden District, 16144 Churchview Drive, Lithia.

Other performances in the series will be line dancing with Wiley Fox, a Florida band with Kentucky roots, on July 18; and traditional and contemporary salsa rhythms with ClaraSalsa on July 25.

Comical Classic

The Summer Classic Movie Series at Tampa Theatre presents the 1939 comedy "Ninotchka" at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Greta Garbo plays her first comedic role in this frothy tale of a dour Russian envoy who falls for a suave Parisian man-about-town. Supporting cast includes Melvyn Douglas and Bela Lugosi.
