Petty Rocks Steady
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be free fallin' at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the St. Pete Times Forum, 401 Channelside Drive.
Petty's tour follows on the heels of the Peter Bogdanovich-directed documentary "Runnin' Down a Dream," which established the Heartbreakers' story as the embodiment of the American dream.

THURSDAY
Pirate Fun On Tap
Elementary students will be able to use their imagination and set sail with Barnacle Bess at 2 p.m. Thursday, at the SouthShore Regional Library, 15816 Beth Shields Way, Ruskin.
Bess will weave a tale of the Gasparilla Coast with magic, music and poetry while dressed in majestic pirate plumes and finery. There is seating for 200.

Bluesy Shelby Lynne
Grammy Award-winner Shelby Lynne comes to town at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to perform at the Tampa Theatre, 711 N. Franklin St., Tampa.
During her almost 20-year career, Lynne has sung many genres, such as country, blues, Southern soul, roots rock, Western swing, jazz and contemporary pop.
Her 2008 release, "Just a Little Lovin'," pays homage to British blues legend Dusty Springfield.
Tickets for reserved seats range from $31 to $40.50 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com, by calling (813) 287-8844 or at the theater box office.
FRIDAY
Creepy Crawlers
Unusual and creepy creatures will visit the SouthShore Regional Library, 15816 Beth Shields Way, Ruskin, at 2 p.m. Friday.
Reptiles and insects such as a bearded dragon, boa constrictor, desert king snake, giant hissing cockroaches and more will be on hand for the educational program.
The library has seating for 200.
SATURDAY
Rock 'N' Roll Thunder
Johnny Thunder, a former member of the Drifters and the Ink Spots, will perform at Community Hall, 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd., Sun City Center, from 7 to10 p.m. Saturday.
Rocky and the Rollers will accompany Thunder. Thunder sang the hits "You Send Me" and "Loop de Loop."

SUNDAY
Bird Talk
Matt Edmonds, a nationally recognized authority on bird behavior, will discuss positive reinforcement for parrots at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Ruskin Moose Lodge Hall, 1212 E. Shell Point Road, Ruskin.
Please do not bring birds to the event, which is being sponsored by The Greater Brandon Avian Society. Admission is $5.

Robin Hood
"The Adventures of Robin Hood," the classic adventure movie starring the debonair Errol Flynn, will be featured at the Tampa Theatre, 711 N. Franklin St., Tampa, at 3 p.m. Sunday.
The 1938 film, which won three Academy Awards, co-stars Olivia de Havilland and Claude Rains. Tickets are $8.
