CLEARWATER - The team features players from as far south in Hillsborough County as Apollo Beach and Riverview and north to Land O' Lakes in Pasco County.

Still, the players on the Florida Havoc 14-under traveling fast-pitch softball team have come together nicely

On May 25, they captured the championship in their division during the two-day National Softball Association's Clearwater Memorial Classic tournament at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex.

The Havoc prevailed after a 5-3 victory over the Clearwater Bombers, capping a perfect 6-0 weekend for the team.

Not bad for a team that has been competing together for less than a month.

Their first tournament appearance also took place in May when they finished second in the United States Specialty Sports Association's first Christina Classic tournament May 10 and 11 in Lakeland.

The Florida Havoc fast-pitch organization is a nonprofit group whose main objective is to assist young female athletes to be more involved in competitive softball and increasing their opportunities to compete at the high school and collegiate levels.

The 14-under team is made up of 13 and 14 year olds.
