The Kiwanis Club of Sun City Center recently hosted an awards luncheon to present six college scholarships to local students. The recipients were:
Megan McGuire, East Bay High School, $1,000, studying nursing at Hillsborough Community College.
Queena Phi, East Bay High School, $1,000, studying international business at the University of Florida.
Anthony Phan, East Bay High School, $1,000, studying physical therapy at UF.
Alejandro Pina, East Bay High School, $1,000, studying civil engineering and architecture at the University of South Florida.
Judith Villegas, Lennard High School, $500, studying psychology at USF.
Jandy Reina, Lennard High School, $500, studying medicine and health care at Hillsborough Community College.
The scholarship committee members who selected the winners were Joe Nargolwala, Seel Lundy, Di Wilcox, Chuck Wirick and Dee Raimondo. Other guests at the luncheon included Kayzie Weaver, East Bay High School guidance resource specialist; Craig Horstman, Lennard High School assistant principal; and Joseph LaBarbera and Pat Raimondo, who sang "You Will Never Walk Alone" to end the event.
