RUSKIN - Neighbors have been complaining about speeders and cut-through traffic along Third Avenue Southeast, and county officials are considering the possibility of speed humps.
A public meeting, one of the first steps in the process, will be held to gauge support for the idea. The target area is Third Avenue between 15th Street Southeast and 21st Street Southeast, just south of Shell Point Road.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Ruskin Neighborhood Service Center, 201 14th Ave. S.E. Input from the meeting will be used to make recommendations to county commissioners, who have the final say over installing speed humps or other traffic control measures.
