TAMPA - Mark Abbott pushed a person and demanded property back, then got out a box cutter and held it to the person's neck, Hillsborough County deputies say.
The attack at 2:04 a.m. today in Gibsonton may have been related to an earlier burglary, a criminal arrest affidavit states. The affidavit and an arrest report don't say what property was stolen.
Abbott demanded the person take him to the missing property, and the victim, 34-year-old Willis Bailey, said he didn't have the stolen property. Against Bailey's will, Abbott took him to a 1998 Lincoln driven by Randell Woosley, a criminal arrest affidavit states. Abbott and Woosley inferred to Bailey that they had a firearm, according to the affidavit.
Woosley drove off but decided he didn't want to participate in the incident, so he dropped Bailey and Abbott off at 6902 Ohio St., sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
Deputies arrested Woosley and Abbott about 2:45 a.m. in Gibsonton.
Each was charged with armed home invasion and kidnapping. Abbott also was charged with aggravated assault.
Woosley, 45, of Tampa, and Abbott, 31, of Gibsonton, remained in Orient Road Jail today. No bail had been set.
