County Road 579 Bridge Reopens

WIMAUMA - Last week the county completed work on a County Road 579 project that began nearly five months ago.

The project involved upgrading and fixing some of the supports on a small bridge that traverses the Little Manatee River.

Work began June 27 and continued intermittently until the reopening, which was Friday.

During that time, motorists traveling south from Hillsborough had to use State Road 674 and U.S. 301, while drivers coming north from Manatee County had to take State Road 62 to U.S. 301.
