Dorsey Speaks

Author Tim Dorsey, a former editor and reporter at The Tampa Tribune, will give you a peek inside the inner-workings of his mind at 7 p.m. in the SouthShore Regional Library, 15816 Beth Shields Way, Ruskin.

Dorsey will talk about his latest creation, "Atomic Lobster," and then sign copies of the book. He has a wicked Florida wit, and his fictional world is filled with odd characters.

Thursday

A Moving Drama

Members of the East Bay High School drama department will perform "The Diary of Anne Frank" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the auditorium, 7710 Big Bend Road, Gibsonton.

Tickets cost $6 for adults, $4 for students, and include dessert and beverage during intermission. Groups of 10 or more receive student pricing when making advance reservations. For reservations, call (813) 671-5134, ext 271. Tickets are also available at the door.

Saturday

A Wiggly Good Time

The Wiggles are at it again as they bring their concert tour to the St. Pete Times Forum for two shows at 1:30 and 5 p.m.

They will perform songs such as "Romp Bomp A Stomp," "The Monkey Dance" and "Move Like an Emu." Audience participation is strongly encouraged. Dress up as a favorite character such as Capt. Feathersword; bring a rose for Dorothy the Dinosaur or a bone for Wags the Dog; sing along and wiggle in the aisles.

Kickstands Down

Head on over to the American Legion Alafia Post 148's Bike Night at 3:30 p.m. to check out some two-wheelers and vendors on site selling motorcycle-related merchandise.

Fun And A Film

The Gasparilla Film Festival's second annual Children's Day is from 2 to 6 p.m., with the movie classic "Miracle on 34th Street" following from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hyde Park Village, 742 S. Village Circle.

The free event includes clowns, food and activities such as a bounce house, origami and face painting. Participants can win tickets to see "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

See 'Seussical'

Dr. Seuss' best-loved stories collide and cavort in the musical "Seussical" at 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday in Ferguson Hall at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, 1010 N. MacInnes Place.

A Dysfunctional Tale

The Pelican Players' latest offering is the "Dearly Departed," which is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Riverside Club Golf & Boating Resort's Landing Clubhouse, 2550 Pier Drive, Ruskin.

The play is the tale of a Southern dysfunctional family and what the family goes through to get the mean and surly patriarch buried.
