Published: November 19, 2008

SUN CITY CENTER - A large, white cross was lifted by a 60-foot-tall crane Oct. 15 onto the top of the church building being constructed at a second campus of St. John the Divine Episcopal Church on East Del Webb Boulevard.

The cross was blessed by the rector, the Rev. Tracy H. Wilder, before it was lifted to the bell tower's summit.

A crowd gathered to watch at the site, even though "the cross can be seen from as far away as U.S. 41," said Carole Del Castillo, communications director for the church.
