SUN CITY CENTER - Tony Badalamenti of Sun City Center is on the prowl for business people who want to grow their businesses.
He's starting a South Shore chapter of Business Network International.
"This is not a leads group," he said. "Only one person per profession or vocation in the group is allowed - and only one vocation per person. We work as a team of professionals promoting each other's businesses."
Badalamenti said that's what sets BNI apart from other business organizations.
"Our members share their ideas and contacts and make business referrals," he said. "We're highly successful at growing business. Our Brandon chapter closed about $2 million in referrals last year."
To start the chapter, Badalamenti, a financial planner, must recruit 20 core members; 15 have joined so far.
The parent organization was founded by Ivan Misner, chairman of BNI, in 1985, and has 5,000 chapters.
