SUN CITY CENTER - The Roamin' Oldies Car Club and Braden Street Cruisers will hold a classic car show to benefit the Sun City Center Emergency Squad from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Aston Gardens at the Courtyards, 231 Courtyard Blvd.
Music from the 1950s and 1960s will paint a vintage backdrop as spectators view vehicles from the 1930s to the present. Spectators are asked for a $5 donation, which includes admission, hot dogs, hamburgers, soda and dessert.
There is no registration fee for vehicles.
The Roamin' Oldies Club, which holds a free cruise-in from 6 to 9 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at Cherry's Restaurant, 6186 U.S. 41 N., Apollo Beach, also chooses a Cruiser of the Month. September's choice was a red and chrome 1960 Chevrolet Impala hardtop owned by Jerry Givens of Gibsonton. "I had a new one when I was 18 years old," he said.

Musical Extravaganza For Wounded Warriors
The Military Order of the World Wars and the Patriots Club, in a coalition with other Sun City Center military organizations, will host a musical extravaganza to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Community Hall, 1910 N. Pebble Beach Blvd.
Lily Marlene, Bill Barker, Barbara Van Eycken, Michael James and Robert Winslow will entertain.
The Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarrior project.org, strives to help wounded service men and women thrive after they have been injured.

A Lighthearted Spiritual Concert
Unity Community of Joy presents a World Popera Concert starring Armand and Angelina of Orlando at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 in the Florida Room of the Atrium Building, 955 North Course Lane.

Caregiver's Day Out Program Begins
The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center will begin a Caregiver's Day Out ministry from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 8 and from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 9 at the church, 1210 W. Del Webb Blvd.
Activities, games, crafts, movies, dance lessons, chorus programs and light snacks will be provided during the four-hour sessions for people who cannot or prefer not to be left alone. While they enjoy the camaraderie, their regular caregivers may run errands or grab some rest and relaxation.
Church volunteers and certified nursing assistants, provided by Live@Home will supervise the participants.

Breakfast Fundraiser For Men's Retreat
RIVERVIEW - Members of the Men's Club of Resurrection Catholic Church, 6819 Krycul Ave., Riverview, will cook and serve breakfast after Masses, from about 8:45 to 10:15 a.m. and from 11 a.m. to noon Sundays in September and October.
The cost is $4 per person for a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, grits, quiche, biscuits and gravy, coffee and orange juice.
A $5 Spanish lunch of salad, bread, chicken, beans, rice and drinks will begin at about 1:30, after the noon Mass.
Proceeds will defray costs for men who wish to attend the 13th annual men's retreat - Men's Resurrection Experience - from Oct. 24-26 at the Bethany Center, 18150 Bethany Center Drive, Lutz. Everyone is welcome at the meals and "everyone is invited to the retreat," said Stacy Feiler, parishioner.

Hurricane Safety Information For Pets
RIVERVIEW - Summerfield's Pet Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Summerfield Community Center, 13011 Summerfield Blvd.
Pet owners are invited to learn about grooming, micro-chipping and animal storm safety precautions. There will be treats and prizes. Admission is free.
Furry Godmother Pet Sitters, Boyette Animal Hospital and the Critter Adoption and Rescue Effort will be represented at the event. Vendors may rent tables for $20.

Make Poker Run For Haley House
RIVERVIEW - The Riverview Detachment of the Marine Corps League invites card-playing bikers to its second annual Poker Run in Support of the Haley House on Saturday.
From 8 to 11 a.m. participants will register, with kickstands up at 11:15 a.m. It will start and end at American Legion Post 148, 7240 U.S. 301, S. Riverview.
The ride will pass through Thonotosassa, Zephyrhills, Plant City and Ruskin before arriving back at the post about 2 p.m. for a barbecue and music.
Best, second-best and worst hands will be rewarded.

Barbecue To Support The Troops
RIVERVIEW - American Legion Post 148, 7240 U.S. 301 S., will host a barbecue from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Pulled pork and accompaniments, served with a side of music and dancing, will be available for $10.
Proceeds will benefit the post's Support the Troops program and the Fisher House and Haley House.
"Post 148 is an active post," said Jack Skelding, executive board member. It is "always seeking new members. Membership in the Legion requires an honorable discharge from the armed services."
Women who want to join the Ladies Auxiliary must have a parent or spouse that was honorably discharged. The Sons of the American Legion are men whose parents were honorably discharged.
The post also is home to the Marine Corps League Detachment and its auxiliary.
"Members from all the above entities will be available to answer any questions you may have," Skelding said. "Please stop by and check us out or call the post at (813) 677-6529."
Post To Install Officers
RIVERVIEW - The American Legion Post 246 will meet for coffee and doughnuts at 9 a.m. followed by a meeting at 9:30 Friday in Room 3 of Community Hall, 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd.
Kathryn Ferrin, commander of the 15th District of the American Legion Department of Florida, will install new post officers who were elected for the 2008-09 term. They are: Blaine Brown, commander; Leonard Howard, first vice commander; Ron Engles, second vice commander; Ron Windsor, finance officer; Robert Foster, adjutant; Steve Molnar, service officer; Carl Nissen, chaplain; Wendell Fitts, judge advocate; Marshall Tharp, sergeant-at-arms; and Frank Kager, historian.
Art Club Reception
A reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Art Gallery at Sun City Center, next to the Art Room, 954 Cherry Hills Drive. Artwork in various media will be available for purchase.
