Medical Practice For Women Only

Published: September 24, 2008

GIBSONTON - Needing a obstetrician or gynecologist? Tired of driving to Brandon or Tampa to find one?

Then head over to Women's Care, which opened Aug. 18 at 13123 Kings Lake Drive. The staff of one of South Shore's newest medical practice wants to meet you. So they are hosting an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

"This staff is more of a family than a group of employees," said physician Keith Whitehead. "We provide efficient, personal care."
Whitehead said the building was designed with the comfort of women in mind, right down to the exam rooms. Each reflects a theme chosen by the physician using it, or the practice administrator, from Tuscany and Spain to Jamaica and Seattle.

With other offices in Brandon, Lithia and Plant City, the practice is a division of Women's Care Florida.

"We came here because of the rapid growth of the area and its potential," Whitehead said. "I had a number of patients driving from South Shore to Brandon to see me; I figured it was easier for me to drive here."
