RIVERVIEW - Relay for Life co-chairwoman Jennifer Northrop praised the many local businesses that donated supplies and time to make the March 28 fundraiser a success.
The Riverview group expects to meet or exceed its annual goal to raise $115,000 for cancer research and patient support programs.
"In this economic climate, we were worried about finding the business support," Northrop said. "But we had many wonderful community partners that donated supplies, prizes and food."
Donors included Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union, Sweetbay Supermarkets of Apollo Beach and Riverview, Ace Hardware of Riverview, Hilton Garden Inn, Costco and The Inn at Little Harbor.
Cancer survivors at the event were treated to lunch by Five Guys Burger and Fries of Riverview, and dinner was supplied by S&S Taco of Riverview.
"The outpouring of support by the community has been amazing, and we couldn't have been this successful without them," Northrop said.
