TAMPA - Two men charged with second-degree murder in separate domestic incidents will remain in jail without bail, a judge ordered today.
Authorities say Jovany Edgardo Rivera, 28, killed his mother and teenage sister this weekend because his sister's pregnancy was causing family tension.
The bodies of Sara E. Rivera, 50, and Yesenia Rivera, 18, were found Monday morning in their apartment in the Summer Palms complex in Riverview.
Jovany Rivera was arrested Tuesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Ruskin.
In the other case, police say Nishea Magwood, 32, killed his girlfriend after a fight with her and her mother got out of hand.
Magwood walked into River of Grace Ministries, 2801 N. Tampa St., on Tuesday morning and told staffers he thought he had killed his girlfriend, authorities say.
Katrina Locicero, 45, was found dead of an apparent stab wound at Magwood's home, 8704 N. 13th St. Her mother wasn't hurt.
Hillsborough County Circuit Judge Walter Heinrich ordered Rivera and Magwood held without bail. Both men face possible life sentences if convicted as charged.
