Woman's Club Fashion, Food and Fantasy Show Coming Up

SUN CITY CENTER - The public is invited to a Fashion, Food and Fantasy Show sponsored by the General Federation of Women's Club's Sun City Center Woman's Club at noon Feb. 13 at Community Hall, 1910 S. Pebble Beach Blvd.

Dillard's will supply the fashions to be worn by club member models, with make-up by Barbara Norwood, a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. Ed Beck, on piano, will provide the music as the models walk down the runway. Caterer Mary Stewart will serve the luncheon.

Tickets are $25 and available from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the atrium ticket kiosk, 945 North Course Lane. Proceeds will fund the club's community projects.

The Meaning Of Valentine Flowers

The South Shore Christian Women's Connection invites all women to its Feb. 12 luncheon and program from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Club Renaissance, 2121 S. Pebble Beach Blvd.

A representative from Julia's Florist and Gifts will discuss the meaning of flowers for St. Valentine's Day. Tamra Nashman, an inspirational speaker affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries and author of "Shoes for the Spirit," will talk about what helped her walk through difficult relationships, depression, the loss of a child and surviving a plane crash.

Good Foot Benefit Shoot

LAKELAND - Ye Notorious Krewe of the Peg Leg Pirate, headquartered in Ruskin, invites experienced shooters and novices to its fourth annual Get on the Good Foot Sporting Clays Benefit Shoot. The event begins with registration and a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 at Tenoroc Shooting Sports and Training, 3755 Tenoroc Mine Road.

Lunch will be served and prizes awarded at noon. Teams or individuals may compete in this safe, friendly competition. Profits will benefit the krewe's support of amputees and their families.

How To Start Tracing History

RUSKIN - The South Bay Genealogical Society invites all South Hillsborough County residents to join its ranks and attend a luncheon meeting at noon Feb. 17 at the SouthShore Regional Library, 15816 Beth Shields Way. The topic will be "Help, I Don't Know Where to Begin - Genealogy 101," presented by Becky Bandy.

Shelter Needs Stuff You Don't

RUSKIN - The Mary and Martha House, 1009 First Street S.W., Ruskin, is a nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter for women in crisis. The Thrift Store that helps fund its operations welcomes donations of cash and no-longer needed household goods, appliances and clothes.

The store is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
