Descendants Of Pioneers To Gather

WIMAUMA - Longtime Wimauma residents and ancestors and descendants of pioneer families are will gather for a reunion later this month at the Church of GoD.

Anyone who attended Wimauma High School also is invited to the reunion, set for Feb. 28 beginning at 10 a.m. at the church cafetorium, 5316 Center Street, Wimauma.

It will be the eighth reunion for longtime residents. Organizer Vivian Swiger said she hopes those who attend will bring old photographs, newspaper articles and mementos to share.

Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and tea or soft drinks. Napkins, plates, cups and plastic ware will be provided.

"If there are any old timers or their families that you know of that don't know about the reunion, please pass the information along to them," Swiger said.
