Program Promotes Healthy Lifestyles

RUSKIN - Knowledge is Power, a program promoting a healthy lifestyle, will be presented at the SouthShore Regional Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Knowledge is Power provides cancer awareness education and wellness tips and works to unite communities and empower Florida residents to take ownership of their health.

The event, presented by the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, includes health workshops and vision, blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes screenings provided by the Alzheimer Association and the American Stroke Association.

Zumba, musical entertainment and a kids' game zone will be part of the day's festivities.

The program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the SouthShore Regional Library. The library is at 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin.
