SUN CITY CENTER - At the request of south Hillsborough County residents, one more public meeting has been scheduled to discuss the county's transportation future.
It will take place in the Florida Room at the Sun City Center Community Association Atrium Building, 945 N. Course Lane, 10 a.m. today.
The meeting is part of a listening tour that started last month and was conducted by a coalition of the county's Transportation Task Force, the Metropolitan Planning Organization, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit, Florida Department of Transportation and the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority.
The gatherings have been scheduled in conjunction with the Transportation Task Force's work on recommendations for funding improvementsin light rail, rapid bus transit systems, roadway projects, and bicycle-pedestrian projects. The task force intends to make a final recommendation to the county commission this fall.
