Keller Williams Realty's South Shore Market Center team is giving back to the South Shore area by sponsoring its 2nd Annual Walk-a-thon to benefit the Good Samaritan Mission in Wimauma.

"We believe in supporting the community that we live and work in," said team leader Sally McFolling. " [The March 14 event] is our way of saying thanks to our friends, neighbors, clients and customers.

Warm-up will be at 8 a.m. at the Publix Shopping Plaza at 6488 U.S. 41 N. in Apollo Beach, with the walk-a-thon beginning at 8:30. The four-mile trek will be down Apollo Beach Boulevard and back, returning to the Keller Williams office in the Shoppes of Apollo Beach. Every walker will receive tickets for chances to win prizes.

This year's South Shore Cares charity is the Good Samaritan Mission, which serves more than 500 local families on a weekly basis. The mission offers social services, advocacy, meals and a non-profit, day-care program for more than 50 children, said Executive Director William Cruz.
