Distinctive Women Impress Audience

Four women of distinction shared their enthusiasm for life at a luncheon and program sponsored by the Sun City Center Branch of the American Association of University Women Feb.10 at Sun City Center Community Hall.

The event was attended by nearly 300 men and women. Games of dominoes, mahjong and bridge followed short presentations by Lana Cain Krauter, president of Beall's Department Stores Inc.; Dottie Berger MacKinnon, chairwoman of the board of directors for Kids Charity of Tampa Bay; Stacie Schaible, anchorwoman for WFLA, News Channel 8; and Dorothy Rich, former director of the Nearly New Shop of Sun City Center.

"The program was most interesting because the Women of Distinction shared their lives, which were each very different," said Beverly Fletchall, branch publicity chairwoman. "The speakers kept your attention because of their enthusiasm for life, their openness about their lives and their unusual and clever, witty remarks."

"Each was an excellent speaker and had an interesting story to tell," said Edith Rice, branch president. "Stacie Schaible's mother and stepfather live in Minnesota and are spending the winter here in Sun City Center and were able to attend the event."

Rice and Marsha Fader organized the event. Proceeds benefit scholarships for women.
