Thursday

Stepping Out For The Spring

Ten business and community leaders will put on their ballroom dancing shoes to help raise money for The Spring of Tampa Bay at 7:30 p.m. at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center's Carol Morsani Hall, 1010 N. MacInnes Place, Tampa.

The amateurs will take the stage with professional dancers, and the audience will vote for their favorites during an intermission.

Then the audience will watch ballroom dancing exhibitions by the professionals.

The Spring provides shelter and support for survivors of domestic violence.

This Entertainment Will Move You

A one-man show, "Skeletons," will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at the Temple Beth El Social Hall, 1115 E. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City Center.

Written and performed by Andries Oosthuizen, a Kings Point resident, the show promises to touch your heart and move you to help the less fortunate.

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sun City Center requests a donation of canned goods, groceries or cash donation for the food bank at the Redlands Migrant Workers Beth-El Farmworker Ministry in Wimauma.

Manatee Festival Brings Bevy Of Art

The 17th annual Apollo Beach Manatee Festival of the Arts will take place Saturday and Sunday at the SouthShore Community Events Center, 302 Noonan Branch Road, Apollo Beach. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Browse the works of nearly 100 fine artists and crafters from across the country and enjoy food, entertainment, cooking classes and a culinary arts competition. Budding artists can explore their talents at the Children's Creativity Center, and everyone can add their touches to a collaborative mural.

Admission is $5 for adults. Children younger than 12 enter free. Cost includes complimentary parking and shuttle bus transport to the festival and Manatee Viewing Center. Visit www.apollobeach chamber.com or call (813) 645-1366.

Knock On Wood

Crafters, woodworkers and do-it-yourselfers can head to the Florida State Fairgrounds this weekend for the annual Woodworking Show. Attend free classes and hands-on clinics and see the latest in tools and techniques from local and national exhibitors.

Show hours are noon to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission at the door is $9 for visitors ages 13 and older. Children age 12 and younger enter free. Three-day passes are available at www.thewoodworkingshows .com. Parking is $5 for cars, $10 for RVs. Guests are asked to use the U.S. 301 entrance to the fairgrounds at 4800 U.S. 301 N., Tampa.

Monday

On The Run

"The Gingerbread Boy," a puppet show by the Creative Arts Theater of the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department, will be at the Ruskin Recreation Center, 901 Sixth St. S.E., beginning at 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The Gingerbread Boy escapes from the oven and runs away from the little old woman and the little old man, and quite a few animals, too! Come watch the exciting antics.
