Hillsborough County neighborhoods needing playground equipment, planning festivals or trying to beautify can apply for grants of up to $1,500 from the county.

The county's Office of Neighborhood Relations will accept applications through July 24. Mini-grant orientation classes are available in various locations:

•Thursday, 6:30 p.m., Brandon Regional Library, 619 Vonderberg Drive.

•May 26, 6:30 p.m., Bloomingdale Regional Public Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico.

•June 4, 6:30 p.m., SouthShore Regional Service Center, 410 30th St. S.E., Ruskin.
