Some sad news to start off with, and then a couple of announcements.

Apollo Beach Boot Camp is hosting Exercise for Emma, a fundraiser for 5-year-old Emma Lewis, daughter of the Rev. Charlie and Coco Lewis, to help with her mounting medical expenses. Emma was recently diagnosed with leukemia and will need to receive treatment over the next two to three years.
Charlie Lewis is the pastor of Christ the Community Church.

The fundraiser is a one-hour fitness boot camp scheduled for 8 a.m. Nov. 21 at the Resort & Club at Little Harbor. Registration is $5, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Lewis family. Anyone 14 and older may participate. Participants need to bring a set of 5- or 8-pound hand weights, exercise mat and towel. Water will be provided. For information or to register, visit www.apollo beachbootcamp.com and click on the events page or contact Heather Brandt at (727) 480-3004 or heather@apollobeach bootcamp.com.

Come out and exercise for your health, folks - and this worthy cause.

H&R Block at MiraBay Plaza is hosting a free, informative seminar at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19 on in-home care for seniors, reverse mortgages, wills and probate and low-cost prescription drugs.

Representing Home Instead Senior Care, Kristi Campbell and Lea Kerr will talk about the services they provide to elders in their own homes. Larry Brooks of Mortgage Trust Co. will answer questions about reverse mortgages, and attorney Laurie Ohall will discuss wills, probate and how to make important decisions to make it easier for your heirs.

And Sue Romeo, owner of Canadian Meds South, will discuss how you can save money on prescription drugs by ordering them through her company.

This is the second in a series of informational seminars that John and Penny Smith are offering to the public.

All Bay Insurance Group in Riverview celebrated three years in business Oct. 17 with owner Joel Meek hosting a customer appreciation event.

"We are very blessed to have such wonderful customers and friends, and we look forward to making this an annual event going forward," Meek said.
