I sat at a traffic light at State Road 60 and 22nd Street in Tampa on Thursday as law enforcement agencies escorted a hearse bearing the body of a soldier who had died in service to our country. A motorcyclist was killed Friday evening in collision with a car at U.S. 301 and Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. Some sad news to start off with, and then a couple of announcements. Apollo Beach Boot Camp is hosting Exercise for Emma, a fundraiser for 5-year-old Emma Lewis, daughter of the Rev. Charlie and Coco Lewis, to help with her mounting medical expenses. Emma was recently diagnosed with leukemia and will need to receive treatment over the next two to three years. ...more
