SEBRING –– Maybe Shaquille O'Neal could arrange to come to the Heartland to take some free throw lessons from the youngsters that participated in Saturday's Sebring Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot competition. The annual event, which continues to grow in popularity, attracted 27 youngsters, ages 8-13, who competed at Sebring Middle School. The winners of each age group advanced to the regional competition, which will be held in Lake Placid in January. Finishing first in the girls 8-9 division was Hanna Reppert and placing second was Ezire Pringle. In the girls 10-11 age group, Micaela Devane came in first, while Rebecca McKenzie placed second and Niesha Brown came in third place. ...more
